The AI Visibility Checklist for Product Pages
GuideLinqCheck Editorial Team· 6 min read
Before an AI answer engine can evaluate a product page, it needs complete, consistent and answerable information. This checklist groups the 25 checks we run most often into eight areas you can work through page by page.
Published:
1. Product name and brand
- Is the product named the way shoppers actually search for it?
- Does the brand appear consistently inside the product name?
- Are internal codes or barcodes kept out of the leading title text?
- Is the same product listed under different names across pages?
2. Category and variants
- Is the product placed in the right category?
- Does the subcategory match what a shopper would expect?
- Are variant options (colour, size, volume) listed explicitly?
- Are variants of the same product linked to each other?
3. Technical attributes
- Are the category-specific required fields filled in?
- Are values written with standard units (ml, cm, kg, W)?
- Does the same attribute contradict itself in different sections?
- Is compatibility and box content stated clearly?
On an instant camera page, for example, if film format, power source and whether film is included are missing, no assistant can compare the product against competing models.
4. Description copy
- Does the first paragraph say what the product is and who it is for?
- Are there benefit-led bullet points?
- Is the copy free of generic filler that says nothing about this product?
- Are the same sentences repeated across every product in the category?
5. Questions and answers
- Are the most common category-specific questions answered on the page?
- Do the answers agree with the rest of the page?
- Are the answers short and direct?
- Have recurring questions from reviews been added to the page?
6. Images and alt text
- Does the alt text describe the product rather than repeat the title?
- Is the same alt text reused across different images?
- Is there at least one image showing the product in use?
7. Structured data
- Is Product structured data present?
- Do price, availability and brand match what the page shows?
- Does the markup avoid claims that never appear on the page itself?
8. Technical access
- Is the page blocked in robots.txt?
- Is the canonical URL correct?
- Is the page readable and usable on mobile?
- Are the core page speed metrics in reasonable shape?
How to apply it
Working through all 25 checks at once rarely sticks. Start with the five that matter most for your category. A LinqCheck analysis evaluates these areas automatically and returns a prioritized list of fixes.
